Blue Ridge Fire District
The Blue Ridge Fire District provides Fire/EMS/Rescue emergency response in Happy Jack and is located in Coconino County, Arizona in the heart of the Coconino National Forest, the largest continuous Ponderosa Pine forest in the world. At an elevation of 6,900 feet, we enjoy average snowfall of up to 120 inches between October and April with 15 inches of Spring & Summer rain. These conditions create a recreational paradise a mere 2 1/2 hours North of the metro Phoenix area.
We are a Public Safety Fire District supported by by taxes levied on property owners within the District at a current mill rate of $3.75/$100 secondary assessed property value.
We hold CON 128, Certificate of Necessity, issued by the Arizona Department of Health authorizing the Blue Ridge Fire District the ability to provide Paramedic level EMS care and transport.
Currently, we operate from one station located at 5023 Enchanted Lane. Our fleet consists of 3 ALS ambulances, 1 Engine, 2 Tenders, 1 Rescue, 1 Brush Truck, 1 Patrol Squad, 1 Command vehicle and 1 Polaris UTV.
The District covers about 7.4 square miles for fire protection and approximately 180 square miles of forest and sub-divisions for EMS/Rescue response as well as about 75 miles of State and County highways.
